In May and June 2019 I was an artist-in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. During my time there, I created several freestanding sculptures suggesting empty rooms surrounded by elaborate ornamental decorations. I also completed a series of small wall tiles with many open spaces, layers of cut and manipulated shapes using bright multihued underglazes that were applied using free brush strokes and paper stencils. Selections from the finished work will be exhibited at Kolva-Sullivan Gallery in Spokane, Washington in October 2019.
